The past few months have been hugely exhausting, and highly exciting.
I've been up and down the country, visiting some of the best UK game dev studios ranging from really big names, to the smaller independents, and finally managed to persuade one to take me on.
I wish to thank all the companies I've been to, and all the recruiters, HR people, and interviewers that put up with me in the mean time :) it's been an eyeopening experience seeing how companies work, from the bigger ones, to the smaller ones and those in between and I hope that my new employer knows the insanity they're about to get ;)
In other news, I've surprisingly not been sitting on my arse and twiddling my thumbs. I've been re-writing my Honours Project - SGZEngine - to be C++ compliant, while fixing some nasty bugs along the way. There's a huge amount of features that still need added, however but I've decided that seeing as it's almost a full re-write - and therefore doesn't bear resemblance to the coursework that was submitted - I'm going to license it under the LGPL so that others can develop it further if they wish.
I've got an SVN host setup where I'll be dumping the code, and once I finish tidying up the last few things, and a bit of documentation, I'll be throwing it out to the masses!
I'm actually a few weeks late in doing this, as I wanted to have it done before December started, but with what's happened the past few weeks, it's just not been possible.
Oh and as for the Xbox which had died again in the previous blog post, I did manage to resurrect it for a few more days, before the new dashboard release killed it off once more. It's a bit dead now, and I'm unlikely to go tearing it to pieces in the near future with everything else on my plate. So the 360 world is safe from me for a while longer ;)
Right, I've lots of work to do as I was also intending to have Tiny Critters and Insane Asylum in playable form by Christmas! That doesn't seem all that likely but let's have a go anyway.
Maybe the next blog post wont take so long ;)
